Kulraj Turned Diwani

On the sets of YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, Kulraj Kaur Randhawa grew very close to the film’s director Samir Karnik. So close that, both Sunny and Bobby Deol started fondly calling her ‘bhabhi’.

Kulraj Kaur Randhawa, who shot to fame with the TV series Kareena Kareena, is ecstatic.

YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, in which she stars opposite the Deols, is now ready for release. But more importantly, her personal life is touching a new high. She is dating the director of YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, Samir Karnik.

Our khabri confirms, “Kulraj and Samir got along like a house on fire. They realised they were attracted to each other.”

Sparks flew. Both Samir and Kulraj apparently tried to hide their growing proximity to each other. But such things always surface early.

The source adds, “They didn’t want to make a spectacle on the sets. So, their work never suffered. But soon, the entire cast and crew knew that Kulraj and Samir were dating.”

In fact, on the sets of the film, the Samir-Kulraj affair had become quite a rage and even Sunny and Bobby Deol would fondly call her ‘bhabhi’. Kulraj, of course, did precious little in return apart from blushing.
Adds our source, “Basically, both Samir and Kulraj are shy. They would never want their relationship to become public.” Oops!

Hrithik Roshan To Follow Salman

For some time now, Salman has been in news for his charity works through his Being Human foundation. Well, he has got a follower in Hrithik Roshan.

Hrithik Roshan gifted a school bus worth Rs 10 lakh to the Dilkhush Special School (for mentally challenged children) in Juhu.

Says a source on condition of anonymity, "Yes, Hrithik has donated a bus to the school. Currently, we only have two school buses one that drops off children to Mahim and the other to Jogeshwari. The Mahim bus is in dire need of repairs. We had written to the actor asking if he could help us in any way. We were pleasantly surprised to get his reply in a few days sanctioning the new bus which should arrive by January next year."
It was Hrithik’s wife Sussanne who advised Hrithik to do the charity work. She had visited the school in 2003.

"That's when they started helping the school through donations. We were badly affected during the 2005 floods as we are close to Juhu beach. The ground floor got damaged and we sent appeals to many people as furniture and school records had got damaged. Hrithik was amongst the first to respond and send over a large amount immediately. Since then, he's always been very generous,"adds the source.

Rati Agnihotri’s Son To Debut In Bollywood

It seems to be an ideal year for star kids to be making their Bollywood debuts and Rati Agnihotri’s son Tanuj Virmani is next in line.

Tanuj will act in debutante Joe Rajan’s film, LUV U SONIYO. Earlier, Tanuj was scheduled to make his debut with Ravi Chopra’s film PURANI JEANS but he opted out of it. The actor clarified, “I always wanted to make my debut with someone who I am comfortable with. Ever since he narrated the script to me and made me listen to his songs, I knew that I have to be a part of this film. When he narrates something I can visualise what he is saying. I have found the right chord with this film.”

Was PURANI JEANS about discord then? Tanuj added, “I had signed that film but unfortunately it is not happening right now due to Raviji’s health. It’s  been shelved for the time being and God willing, I will again be a part of it.”

Finally, talking about being compared to his mother, he said, “It is like a double edged sword. My upbringing has been non-filmi. I was never interested in films until a few years ago, when I worked as an assistant director (AAO WISH KAREIN and CHANCE PE DANCE). After that I decided to be an actor. I am just 22 years old and I don’t think too much about being compared with my mother.”

Mira Is Coming Home

Renowned filmmaker Mira Nair wants to set up home in India again.

Yes, she’s moving back to India from New York and is currently looking for property in and around Mumbai.

“I want a peaceful spot to set up my home. I’ll also be bringing my filmmaking school Maisha into India. It’s so nice to be back in my own mahaul. Moving back home is such a joy,”reveals a joyfull Mira.

She has even got a permanent Indian cell number.

“At least I’ve got my identity in place with my phone,” she jokes.

Mira‘s whole family is settled. “My son is now in University. My husband is an intellectual based in Africa. We’ve a home in Kampala since he’s working in the university there. Delhi is my home. But I’ll be working from Mumbai,” says Mira.

She further adds, “The kids are raised. I can now get back to the streets, in a manner of speaking.”

After NAMESAKE in 2006, which won critical acclaim, Nair made AMELIA, which bombed. We even reported recently that SHANTARAM has been shelved because Johnny Depp has moved on to other projects. Setting up shop back home might not be such a bad idea, after all.

Piggy To Stay Away From Hotels

Piggy Chops may have turned down 3 crore offer to dance on new year’s eve in a hotel but she has no problem doing the same in a wedding!!!

She claims that she feels uncomfortable doing an item number in front of a live audience in a hotel but she has no such problem about gyrating to a live audience at weddings.

a source reveals, “Priyanka was in Delhi this very Friday dancing for a wedding and immediately the next day, on Saturday, she was back in Mumbai performing at the Turf Club for another wedding.”

“Priyanka danced on all her numbers right from Desi Girl and Dhan-Te-Nan at both the weddings. She performed solo and the audience really enjoyed her performance. She was paid a fat sum, amounting to almost to Rs 2 crore to dance at both these weddings,” adds the source.
